ANSWERS TO FUNDAMENTALISTS' QUESTIONS, published by Liguori Press with

IS ROMAN CATHOLICISM CHRISTIAN?

But what if I would have asked, "Is Mormonism Christian?" To a
majority of evangelicals, the mere idea of comparing Roman Catholicism
with Mormonism is preposterous. But is it?

Catholics are precious people. Many are sincere, loving, kind and
charitable. But that doesn't make them Christians.

If it weren't for purgatory I don't know what I would do. According to
the Second Vatican Council, I "may attain to salvation through faith,
baptism and the observance of the commandments."1 I was baptized as a
baby, so I have that one down, but I can't say that my faith is always
strong, and about keeping the commandments, well ... sometimes I take the

INTRODUCTION

Since Peter is proclaimed as the first Pope of the Roman Catholic
Church, I thought that it would be advantageous to go through the epistles
of I and II Peter and glean out anything that would be useful in witnessing
to a Roman Catholic. I used The New American Bible which is an easy-to-
read Catholic version that is put out by the Catholic Biblical Association
of America. It is a study Bible and has the approval of the Vatican.
